Harry Kane has declared himself at the peak of his physical and mental abilities, expressing his ambition to emulate Cristiano Ronaldo by extending his playing career well into his late thirties.
The England captain is set to make his 100th appearance for the Three Lions against Finland on Tuesday, joining a select group of players who have reached this milestone.
Kane, already England’s all-time leading scorer, will be honored with a golden cap before the match.

Despite facing criticism for his performances during England’s Euro 2024 campaign, Kane remains confident in his ability.
Inspired by Ronaldo’s recent 901st goal, he aims to maintain his top-level form for as long as possible.
“I feel in incredible shape both physically and mentally,” Kane stated. “Watching players like Ronaldo score his 901st goal at 38 or 39 years old inspires me to play for as long as I can. I love this game, representing England is everything to me, and I don’t want it to end anytime soon.”
Kane expressed his gratitude for reaching the 100-cap milestone, acknowledging the dedication and consistency required to achieve such a feat. He also praised Ronaldo’s longevity and determination, using him as a motivation to push his own limits.

While Kane has met Ronaldo on a few occasions, he primarily looked up to both Ronaldo and Lionel Messi during his formative years. Their dedication and drive have served as significant inspirations for his own career.
“I try to use different players to motivate me, especially those older than me,” Kane explained. “Ronaldo’s exceptional record and longevity are truly inspiring. It helps me realize I have many more years ahead at the highest level.”
England interim manager Lee Carsley hinted at making a few changes to the team that defeated Ireland in his first match. While he expressed confidence in the team’s progress, he remained focused on the task at hand rather than speculation about his future as permanent manager.
“I feel like we’re making strides as a team,” Carsley said. “I try not to focus too much on myself. The best person should get the job. I’m comfortable with my role for the next three camps.”
