Israeli Military Rescues Hostage From Underground Tunnel In Gaza

The Israeli military has announced the rescue of Kaid Farhan Elkadi, a 52-year-old Bedouin Arab, from an underground tunnel in the southern Gaza Strip. Elkadi was kidnapped by Hamas during the October 7 attack on Israel.

According to a statement, the rescue operation was carried out by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) and Shin Bet domestic security service. Due to security considerations, further details of the operation cannot be disclosed.

Elkadi, the eighth hostage rescued by Israeli forces since the start of the conflict, is in stable condition and undergoing medical examinations. His family has expressed relief and joy at “We are working relentlessly to return all of our hostages,” the statement quoted Mr Netanyahu as saying.

“We are doing this in two main ways: negotiations and rescue operations. The two of these together require our military presence on the ground, and constant military pressure.”his release, hoping for the safe return of all remaining hostages.

IDF spokesman Rear Admiral Daniel Hagari confirmed that Elkadi was rescued from an underground tunnel following accurate intelligence. Footage released by the IDF shows Elkadi speaking with soldiers moments after his rescue.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has congratulated Elkadi on his release, expressing the nation’s relief and joy at the news.
