The Supreme Court has on Monday, reserved judgment in the appeal filed by Timipre Sylva of the All Progressives Congress APC in the Nov. 11 gubernatorial election in Bayelsa state.
Headed by Justice Garba Lawal, The five-member justices adjourned the judgment to a later date that will be made known to all parties involved

Counsel to Sylva, Onyechi Ikpeazu, SAN had earlier prayed the justices to set aside the judgments of the Bayelsa State Governorship Election Petition Tribunal and the Court of Appeal which had earlier dismissed their petition, he asked the apex court to declare null and void the declaration of Gov. Douye Diri of Bayelsa by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) as winner of the election and declare Sylva instead as the duely election governor of Bayelsa state.
However , Chris Uche, SAN, councel to governor Diri, urged the court to dismiss the appeal, saying that the appeal is terribly bad and lacks merit as no witness or documents supported his request being made at the court.

INEC, represented by Charles Edoshomwan who represented INEC in the suit and Tayo Oyetibo councel to Peoples Democratic Party PDP both supported Uche’s call for the dismissal of the appeal for want of merit.
