Police Arrests Two Suspected Cultists With Toy Pistol 

Two men, Abiodun Salami and Destiny Adeola, have been arrested by the Ogun State Police Command for suspected cult activities in Ijoko, Sango-Ota.

The state Command’s Public Relations Officer, Omolola Odutola, disclosed the arrest to journalist on Monday, August 8, 2024.

Matrix gathered that for long, Sango-Ota and Ijoko have been plagued by escalating cult violence, including clashes, attacks, and killings.

However, the police spokesperson disclosed that Abiodun Salami and Destiny Adeola were apprehended alongside other members of the Eiye Confraternity during a gathering in Ijoko.

Acting on the tip-off by residence, the Anti-Robbery Squad swiftly responded to the scene. Salami and Adeola were arrested, but their accomplices managed to escape.

Odutola noted that items recovered from the scene included a toy silver pistol, locally made amulets, and suspected Indian hemp

“When they spotted the squad, they scattered in different directions. Salami and Adeola were apprehended. During questioning, Adeola admitted to being a member of the Eye Confraternity.

“He (Adeola) revealed that he was initiated into the group in 2022 at Atan-Otan. We are intensifying efforts to apprehend the other members who are still at large,” Odutola stated.
