GWR: Sanwo-Olu Commends David For Breaking Largest Painting Record

Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has commended gifted artist Dr. Fola David for shattering the record for the largest painting created by a single person in the Guinness World Record.

The amazing 1000 square meters of David’s artwork, “Unity in Diversity,” exceed the previous record of 629.98 square meters.

The artwork honors Nigeria’s rich cultural legacy by showcasing the distinctive dress, dialects, artwork, and spirit of the nation’s many tribes.

Sanwo-Olu congratulated David on his outstanding achievement, emphasizing his dedication and creativity.

The governor also recognised David’s contributions during the COVID-19 pandemic, where he served as a #COVID19Hero at the Onikan Isolation Centre.

The governor’s praise was echoed on X, where he wrote: “From the challenging days of the pandemic where he was a #COVID19Hero at our Onikan Isolation Centre to breaking world records at our Onikan Stadium (Mobolaji Johnson Arena), Dr. Fola David has been a beacon of excellence and service.

“Congratulations on creating the world’s largest hand drawing by an individual, ‘Unity in Diversity.’ Lagos is proud!

“We are happy to have supported this record-breaking feat to showcase the extraordinary talents within our state.

As reported by The Nation, the record-breaking artwork was created at the Onikan Stadium in Lagos over six days, with the state government providing support for the feat.
