Yamal Makes History As Spain Beat France To Qualify For Euros 2024 Final

Lamine Yamal made history by becoming the youngest ever player to appear in a semi-final at a major tournament, a record previously held by Brazil’s Pele at the 1958 World Cup.

He also made history by becoming the youngest goal-scorer at a major tournament, a record previously held by Pele against Wales at the 1958 World Cup.

Spain beat France 2-1 in an entertaining Euro 2024 semi-final on Tuesday.

A stunning Lamine Yamal strike and a Dani Olmo goal booking saved a spot for the Spainard in Sunday’s final in Berlin.

France struck an early goal with Kolo Muani beautifully finishing from close range for his side.

Yamal levelled for Spain in the 21st minute when he launched a left-footed drive from outside the penalty area that glanced off the post on its way into the net.

Spain took the lead four minutes later after a period of sustained pressure when Olmo took a clever touch inside the penalty area and fired home a half-volley that deflected off France’s Jules Kounde.

Spain will now head to Berlin to face a fierce finale with either Netherlands or England.
