Tems Chooses Asake, Tyla As favourite African artists

Grammy-winning singer Temilade Openiyi, better known by her stage as Tems, has named Asake, a fellow South African singer, and Tyla, a rising star in the country, as her current favorite African musicians.

The Oscar-nominated singer recently gave a speech on the Time100 Next Gala red carpet in New York.

“Who are your favorite African artists right now?” the interviewer inquired.

“My favorite African artists right now are Asake and Tyla,” Tems retorted.

She was honored at the 2023 Time100 Next event as one of the honorees. A next-generation voice was given to her.
