Governor Uba Sani has declared that Kaduna State is effectively a one-party state, insisting that opposition forces have become insignificant.
Speaking while hosting a presidential delegation led by Bayo Onanuga, Sani said the ruling All Progressives Congress has consolidated its dominance in the state.
“We have no opposition… we have brought Kaduna into a one-party state and I have no apology for that,” he said.
The governor also defended Bola Tinubu, claiming no administration has supported northern Nigeria as much in such a short time, and predicted strong electoral backing for the president in 2027.
Sani further cited improved security in previously troubled areas like Birnin Gwari, noting that travel and economic activities have become safer.
He dismissed criticism on social media, arguing that real electoral strength lies at polling units, where he believes Tinubu would secure “about 70 per cent” of votes.
Earlier, Onanuga said the visit aimed to assess how states are utilising funds from fuel subsidy removal, commending Kaduna for investing in projects impacting residents.
