The Federal Government hosted the Belgian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency Pieter Leenknegt, at the Ministry of Aviation and Aerospace Development in Abuja.
The meeting, led by Aviation Minister Hon. Festus Keyamo, SAN, CON, focused on advancing a new Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between Nigeria and Belgium.
Both sides held extensive discussions and agreed to work collaboratively to finalise the agreement as soon as possible.
According to Festus Keyamo, Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, the proposed BASA is expected to enhance air connectivity, promote trade, tourism, and investment, and strengthen the broader partnership between Nigeria and Belgium.
“I hosted the Belgian Ambassador to Nigeria, His Excellency, Pieter Leenknegt in my office in Abuja.
“We discussed the issue of a new Bilateral Air Services Agreement (BASA) between both countries extensively and agreed to work on the details to make it happen sooner rather than later” he wrote on X.
