ICAO ASTC Lagos Hosts Security Agencies For Counter-MANPADS Workshop

The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Aviation Security Training Centre (ASTC), Lagos has held an opening ceremony of the Counter Man-Portable Air Defence System (MANPADS) Workshop.

According to a post on the X Page of the Federal Airports Authority, the workshop was organised by the UK’s Department for Transport (DfT), in collaboration with the Royal Air Force, aimed at strengthening the capacity of key aviation security stakeholders.

FAAN noted that the objective of the workshop is to enhance participants’ understanding of MANPADS threats and to strengthen collaborative prevention, detection, and response measures in order to safeguard civil aviation.
