Plateau Governor Mutfwang Officially Joins APC

Plateau State Governor, Caleb Mutfwang, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), saying the move was made in the interest of the state.

The state APC chairman, Rufus Bature, formally received the governor and presented him with a party membership card on Friday in Jos.

Mutfwang said his decision was guided by the need for unity and development, assuring residents that his administration would remain inclusive despite the party switch.

He urged skeptics to be patient, saying time would justify the decision, and called on citizens to remain calm and united.

The governor thanked the PDP for providing him a platform for his political career and expressed appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, pledging to support his re-election bid in 2027.
