Nigeria’s New Ambassadors To Assume Duty In 2026

Nigeria’s newly confirmed ambassadors will take up their posts in 2026, following clearance by the National Assembly, Information Minister Mohammed Idris said on Monday.

The minister noted the appointments, which include 34 career and 30 non-career ambassadors such as Femi Fani-Kayode, Reno Omokri, and Abdulrahman Dambazau, will strengthen Nigeria’s diplomatic presence and global engagement.

The move fills long-vacant positions after the 2023 mass recall of envoys, responding to public demand for active ambassadorial representation.
