Fubara Presents Certificates Of Recognition To Asari-Dokubo, Three Others

Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has officially presented Staff of Office and Certificates of Recognition to Niger Delta activist Alhaji Mujahid Asari-Dokubo and three other individuals as traditional rulers in their respective communities.  

Asari-Dokubo was recognized as His Royal Highness, the Amanyanabo of Torusarama Piri in Degema Local Government Area. 

Other recipients included HRM Winston Odize Alamina Oputibeya XII, the Amanyanabo of Koniju in Okrika Local Government Area; HRM Eze Noble Friday Uwoh (CSP rtd), the Eze Igbu-Ehuda IV in Ahoada-East Local Government Area; and HRH Prince Ike Ehie, the Eze Igbu Orilukwoe in Ahoada-East Local Government Area.  

Governor Fubara, in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Nelson Chukwudi, urged the newly recognized monarchs to use their positions to foster peace and security within their domains.

He emphasized that their roles should be seen as a call to service, not an opportunity for personal gain.  

“Your recognition is not for personal aggrandizement but a responsibility to help us protect lives and property in your domains,” the governor stated.  

He further warned against misuse of the privileges accorded to them, reminding them that the government reserves the right to revoke such recognition if necessary. 

However, he expressed confidence in their integrity and urged them to partner with the government in delivering democratic dividends to the people.  

“It is a privileged position, and I am confident that you will use it in the best interest of your people,” Fubara said.  

The governor concluded by appealing to the traditional rulers to collaborate with his administration to ensure its success in promoting development and safeguarding the welfare of Rivers State residents.
