Iran Warns Of ‘Regretful’ Response If Israel Strikes Back

Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, warned on Wednesday that Tehran is prepared for a “decisive and regretful” response if Israel retaliates for the October 1 ballistic missile attack on its territory.

This came after Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant pledged a “precise and deadly” response to the nearly 200 missiles fired at Israel.

Speaking during a phone call with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, Araghchi urged the UN to intervene, accusing Israel of committing “crimes and aggressions” and calling for humanitarian aid to be sent to Lebanon and Gaza.

Iranian officials downplayed the likelihood of an Israeli strike on its nuclear sites but warned that any damage would be swiftly addressed. Araghchi also reached out to France, emphasizing the need to halt Israeli attacks on Lebanon and remove obstacles to aid for displaced civilians.

Amid rising tensions, Israel has reportedly finalized potential targets in Iran, though concerns have been raised in Washington over the risks of sparking a broader regional conflict.
