Pastor Adeboye Apologizes For Saying Non-Tithe Payers Won’t Make Heaven

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adejare Adeboye, has publicly apologized for a previous statement suggesting that believers who don’t pay tithes won’t make it to heaven.

While addressing the congregation at the ongoing RCCG National Youth Convention at Redemption City, Pastor Adeboye admitted his error, stating, “I made a mistake when I said that if you don’t pay tithe, you will not make it to heaven. That is wrong. That is not in the Bible.”

He clarified the biblical teaching, explaining, “What the Bible says is to follow peace with all men and holiness, without which no man shall see God.”

Pastor Adeboye also shared a personal story about being inspired to give generously, recounting a time at a Kenneth E. Hagin convention when a man committed to give more than all other participants combined.

Pastor Adeboye used the story to highlight the importance of giving and praising God wholeheartedly, urging Christians to be bold and vigorous in their praise and offerings, just as biblical figures like King David and Solomon did. He emphasized that such acts lead to God’s favor and blessings.
