Nollywood Actor Yomi Fabiyi Flees Nigeria After Alleged Assassination Attempt

Popular Nollywood actor Yomi Fabiyi has fled Nigeria following an alleged assassination attempt on his life.

The actor revealed this after his absence at the late singer Mohbad’s Coroner court hearing and his failure to lead a planned protest at the Lagos State Assembly on Monday, September 30, 2024.

Fabiyi had organized the protest to coincide with the coroner’s resumption in the investigation of Mohbad’s death. However, explaining his absence, the actor disclosed that his life was in danger after narrowly escaping an assassination attempt two days prior.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, Fabiyi, currently in hiding, alleged a plot to end his life due to his involvement in the pursuit of justice for Mohbad.

“I escaped an assassination two days ago, and they planned to kill me tonight. If they had succeeded, I would be buried tomorrow,” Fabiyi said.

He added that he fled the country unplanned and is unsure of his current destination. “I am just doing this for God, not for any personal gain,” he stated.
