Nigerian singer Asake has sparked widespread criticism after breaking a fan’s iPhone 16 Pro Max outside a nightclub in Paris during his ongoing Lungu Boy tour.

A viral video captures the moment the fan approached Asake, born Ahmed Ololade, for a photo, only for the Afrobeats star to unexpectedly grab the phone and smash it on the ground.

Despite the damage, the fan took to TikTok to express his continued loyalty to the artist, writing, “@asakemusic You broke my iPhone 16 Pro Max. It’s not because they pissed off inside the nightclub that you are going to react like that towards a fan. Anyway, I still love you.”

Asake has yet to respond publicly to the incident, but many social media users have condemned his actions, with some demanding he pay for the phone’s repair.
