With funding from the Clean Cooling Collaborative (CCC), the Energy Commission of Nigeria (ECN) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) established the National Technical Committee of the Scaling-up Energy-Efficiency and Climate-Friendly Cooling in Nigeria.
The goal of this group is to encourage the use of climate-friendly and energy-efficient cooling systems throughout Nigeria.
When the National Technical Committee of the Scaling-up Energy-Efficiency and Climate-Friendly Cooling in Nigeria’s NDC project met in Abuja to discuss and examine the project’s workplan for 2024, Dr. Mustapha Abdullahi, Director General of ECN, outlined the Committee’s overall objective.
He emphasised that the primary objective is to accelerate the adoption of energy-efficient air conditioners with climate-friendly, low-GWP (global warming potential) refrigerants in residential, commercial and public buildings.
