NYSC Suspends Orientation Camp Exercise In Niger State Over Renovation Work

The National Youth Service Corps has suspended the 2026 Batch B Stream I orientation course for prospective corps members deployed to Niger State due to ongoing renovation work at the state’s orientation camp.

In an important notice issued to the public and affected prospective corps members, the scheme said the orientation exercise would not hold as earlier scheduled until further notice.

The NYSC explained that the temporary suspension became necessary to allow for the completion of renovation works currently being carried out at the camp facility.

Prospective corps members posted to Niger State were advised to remain calm, assuring them that alternative arrangements would be communicated in due course.

According to the notice, affected corps members will be contacted at short notice with information on where and when to report for their orientation programme.

The development is expected to affect hundreds of graduates deployed to the state for the mandatory national service programme, although the NYSC maintained that further directives would be issued once suitable arrangements are finalized.

The scheme urged affected prospective corps members to stay updated through official NYSC communication channels and await further instructions regarding their mobilisation and orientation exercise.

It would be recalled that windstorm had destroyed the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp in Paiko in Paikoro Local Government Area of the state in April 2026.
