Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Kunle Afod, has spoken publicly for the first time about his separation from his wife, Desola Afod, popularly known as Celeb Wife, months after reports of their marital crisis surfaced on social media.

The actor disclosed the reasons behind the separation during an interview with YouTube presenter, Kasnasty Sugar, where he pointed to jealousy, allegations of infidelity and the demands of his acting career as some of the issues affecting their marriage.

DAILY POST had reported that the couple’s marriage ran into trouble in February 2026 after Desola reportedly moved her belongings out of their matrimonial home.

Although neither party had publicly addressed the development at the time, Afod’s recent interview appears to confirm that they are no longer together.

Speaking during the interview, the actor said the demands of his profession sometimes prevented him from giving adequate attention to his home.

He also made remarks about infidelity, suggesting that suspicion and accusations of cheating were among the issues in the relationship.

Afod questioned what he described as a double standard in relationships, particularly regarding the use of sex toys by partners and how they react when their spouses engage in similar behaviour.

He further suggested that excessive closeness between a married woman and her female friend could also create suspicion in a relationship.

The actor, however, spoke largely in parables and did not provide specific details about the incidents that led to the breakdown of his marriage.

The interview marks Afod’s first public explanation of the separation since reports of the marital crisis emerged earlier in the year.
