The Lagos State Consumer Protection Agency (LASCOPA) has intensified efforts to strengthen consumer protection and improve service delivery across the state through a one-day interactive engagement with management staff and personnel of its Annex offices.
The engagement, organised under the leadership of the Agency’s General Manager and Chief Executive Officer, Afolabi Solebo, Esq., was aimed at transforming the Annex offices into models of psychological safety, fairness, mutual respect and operational efficiency.
The programme brought together Heads of Annex offices and their subordinate staff to foster constructive dialogue, encourage experience sharing and deepen understanding of the Agency’s operational objectives and responsibilities.
A major highlight of the engagement was the provision of mobile phone devices to Heads of Annex offices by Solebo to strengthen communication and facilitate effective use of the Agency’s toll-free helpline.
The initiative is expected to improve communication between the Annex offices and the Agency’s headquarters, ensure prompt reporting of consumer complaints, strengthen feedback mechanisms and enhance coordination in addressing consumer-related issues.
According to the Agency, the initiative is also designed to promote an inclusive, supportive and productive working environment, while fostering harmonious relationships among staff members.
The engagement aligns with the THEMES+ Agenda of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu’s administration, particularly its commitment to strengthening consumer protection, promoting consumer rights and responsibilities, and improving public service delivery.
LASCOPA said the initiative underscores its determination to build a stronger institutional structure and enhance its operational capacity to ensure that residents across Lagos State enjoy timely, responsive and effective consumer protection services.
