President Bola Tinubu has sought divine intervention for Nigeria, praying for an end to insecurity, lasting peace, national unity and economic stability during a spiritual exercise in the holy city of Makkah, Saudi Arabia.

Tinubu performed the Islamic pilgrimage of Umrah early Friday at the Grand Mosque, Masjid al-Haram, where he circumambulated the Holy Ka’abah and offered prayers of gratitude to Almighty Allah for His blessings on Nigeria and its people.
The President also sought divine guidance and protection for the country, asking Allah to grant Nigerian leaders the wisdom to steer the nation through its challenges and strengthen the bonds of brotherhood among citizens.
Speaking with journalists shortly after completing the spiritual exercise, Tinubu described the Umrah as significant, saying it reinforced his commitment to Nigeria, its people and the responsibilities of leadership.
“I believe this Umrah is very significant for the love of our people, commitment to the job and our country, Nigeria; commitment to the will of Allah that His words must prevail, and that there’s no other God but Him and He’s the only one that makes a human being what he can be and what he would be in life,” he said.
The President said his prayers centred on ensuring that Nigerians, irrespective of their religious and social backgrounds, could live together in peace, happiness and harmony.
“I am grateful to Allah for being able to perform this Umrah. We have just prayed for our nation, for everyone to live in peace and harmony, happiness and faith in God Almighty,” Tinubu stated.
His prayers come amid persistent national challenges, particularly insecurity, economic hardship and concerns over the country’s social cohesion.
Tinubu expressed optimism that Nigeria would continue to make progress towards economic prosperity, social development and a more secure future for its citizens.
He also reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to building a peaceful, united and prosperous country where every Nigerian, regardless of faith or background, could enjoy safety, dignity and harmony.
