Abba Abubakar, son of former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar, has unveiled a nationwide mobilisation plan to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Abubakar, founder and chairman of the Haske Bola Tinubu Organisation (HBTO), announced the plan on Friday at the All Progressives Congress (APC) National Secretariat in Abuja.
He said the organisation was preparing to launch a two-million-man mobilisation march across the six geopolitical zones, beginning in Abuja, as part of efforts to secure Tinubu’s victory in the January 2027 presidential election.
According to him, the immediate focus would be on supporting the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, whom the organisation considers a key figure in its mobilisation structure.
He said the group was aligning with Wike’s political objective of delivering the FCT and Rivers State for Tinubu in the forthcoming election.
Abubakar also disclosed that the organisation was planning a major political mobilisation exercise in Rivers State during the first week of November.
As part of its activities, he said HBTO would introduce a transportation support initiative with the initial provision of 10 luxury buses to ease commuting difficulties for Nigerians.
He explained that the programme would begin in the FCT before being extended to other parts of the country.
“For us, supporting the president’s Renewed Hope Agenda must translate into meaningful actions that positively affect the everyday lives of Nigerians,” he said.
Abubakar said the organisation was activating its structures nationwide, with members and supporters preparing to establish a coordinated grassroots mobilisation network.
He added that HBTO would strengthen its state and zonal structures, engage community stakeholders and collaborate with other political groups to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election.
The former vice-president’s son said his decision to establish and lead the organisation was a personal political choice, stressing that individuals had the right to support candidates and political platforms of their preference.
He said the organisation was formed to unite Nigerians who shared its conviction in Tinubu’s leadership and reform agenda.
Abubakar acknowledged that the administration’s economic reforms had brought difficult adjustments for Nigerians but maintained that the policies were intended to address longstanding structural challenges and reposition the economy for sustainable growth.
He said the organisation would take its message beyond political gatherings by engaging communities, communicating government policies and explaining the administration’s interventions across different sectors.
