The Peoples Democratic Party has met the Independent National Electoral Commission’s October 24 deadline for correcting the names of candidates omitted from its published list ahead of the 2027 elections.

The party’s National Organising Secretary, Captain Umar Bature (retd.), confirmed the development on Sunday in a response to Vanguard, saying the necessary corrections had been completed within the stipulated period.

“Yes, we met the deadline since,” Bature said.

The omissions affected governorship candidates in Gombe and Ogun states, as well as approximately six or seven candidates contesting seats in various state Houses of Assembly.

Bature said the party had addressed the omissions before the deadline expired, although he did not provide further details on the correction process.

The development comes as political parties work to ensure their candidates’ details are accurately reflected in INEC’s published lists ahead of the 2027 general elections.
