Nigerian singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has questioned social media activist VeryDarkMan over the reported N200 million donation by Grammy-winning singer Burna Boy for a school project.
Portable raised the concerns in a video in which he challenged the activist to explain how the money had been spent.
The singer also criticised VeryDarkMan’s decision to paint portraits on a wall, questioning why footballer Adebayo was featured instead of Burna Boy, whom he identified as the donor.
“Burna Boy give you money, wetin you use am do? NGO money, where the money dey?” Portable asked.
He further questioned why VeryDarkMan included his own portrait in the artwork, arguing that the reported funds were provided by another person for a specific project.
Portable also alleged that Burna Boy had given the activist more than N200 million to build a school, questioning whether the money had been used for its stated purpose.
“You are fighting for your pocket. Burna Boy give you N200 million plus, make you build school, you go build Ashewo house,” the singer said.
The remarks have brought renewed attention to the reported donation and the need for clarity regarding the use of funds intended for community development.
However, the report did not include a response from VeryDarkMan to Portable’s allegations. The claims surrounding the donation and its use could not be independently established from the account provided.
