The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) and its partners in Oil Mining Lease (OML) 30 have reviewed the performance of the oil and gas asset and discussed plans to accelerate production growth through a proposed drilling programme.

The discussions took place in Abuja when the Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Ltd, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, received the Managing Director of Shoreline Natural Resources Limited, Mr. Tunde Karim, and the Chief Executive Officer of Heritage Oil Limited, Mr. Ado Oseragbaje.

The meeting focused on assessing the performance of OML 30, one of Nigeria’s major onshore oil and gas assets, and examining the drilling programme planned for the block.

OML 30 is operated under a joint venture involving NNPC Exploration and Production Limited and Shoreline Natural Resources Limited, with Heritage Energy Operational Services Limited serving as the asset operator.

The engagement underscores the partners’ efforts to strengthen operational performance and increase production from the asset amid Nigeria’s drive to boost crude oil output and improve the contribution of the petroleum sector to national revenue.

NNPC Ltd said the meeting reaffirmed the commitment of the national oil company and its partners to accelerating production growth in support of the country’s oil output objectives.

The proposed drilling programme is expected to form part of efforts to improve production performance from the block, although details of the programme, including its timeline and projected output, were not disclosed.

Nigeria has continued to prioritise increased crude oil production as part of efforts to strengthen government revenue, improve foreign exchange earnings and maximise the value of its petroleum resources.
