Uniuyo VC, Prof Ekong Hosts SUG EXCO As Part Of Activities Marking His 100 Days In Office

As Professor Christopher Ekong, Vice Chancellor of University of Uyo marked his 100th days in office as the VC of the institution, he hosted the Executive of the Students’ Union government in his office. This followed a Media briefing where he enumerated a plethora of his achievements in his first 100 days in office.

The Students Union EXCO was led by the President, Michael Ebom who congratulated the Vice Chancellor on his ascension to the apex office and his achievements in various sectors in just 100 days.

Patience Nyeneime, an ex- officio member of the EXCO eulogized the VC for his uncommon show of leadership, she said that the achievements of the VC is unprecedented in such a short period of time. According to Nyeneime, the students are very pleased with the VC and wish him more feathers on his cap.

The Managing Director of Uniuyo Printing Press who was part of the entourage said he decided to join the students on the visit because he printed the compendium of the VC’s achievements and wanted to personally congratulate him on his unprecedented feats in just a few months.

In his response, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Ekong thanked the students for their visit, he assured them of a superlative performance throughout his tenure.

He received the honour with all amount of humility,  thanking his students for their cooperation in maintaining peace on campus. He observed that there has been no cases of cult related violence since he assumed duty as the Vice Chancellor.

Prof Ekong promised to operate an open door policy and encouraged the students to feel free to come to him with their ideas and problems.

The climax of the occasion was the presentation of a compendium, certificate of performance and cutting of the achievement cake to commemorate the visit.

Professor Christopher Ekong was appointed the Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo some months ago and has stunned all and sundry with a plethora of projects and achievements in just 100 days in office.
