Lagos: LASEPA Shuts Church, Hotels, Nightclub Over Environmental Breaches

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency (LASEPA) has sealed 12 establishments across the state over persistent noise pollution and other environmental violations.

The affected facilities were shut on Tuesday, September 22, 2026, after allegedly ignoring repeated warnings, abatement notices and directives to correct the identified breaches.

According to LASEPA, the enforcement operation covered areas including Ogba, Idimu-Ikota, Ejigbo, LASU-Iba Road, Igando and Agodo-Egbe.

Among the establishments sealed were hotels, lounges, a night club, a furniture business, a vegetable oil company and a Celestial Church of Christ parish.

They include Thrillz Lounge, Feixiang Plastic, Marvel Hotel & Suites, Keviz Hotel & Suites, DSN Hotel & Suites, Rudaj Vegetable Oil, Celestial Church of Christ (Aduragbemi Parish), Limas, Nico Hotel & Suites, 10Kobo Night Club, Master Furniture and Nikky’s Executive Bar & Lounge.

LASEPA said the facilities had violated various environmental regulations and failed to implement prescribed corrective measures or comply with the agency’s directives.

The agency said the enforcement was part of the Lagos State Government’s efforts to ensure compliance with environmental laws, protect public health and promote a cleaner and safer environment.

The General Manager of LASEPA, Dr Babatunde Ajayi, said the agency would continue to intensify monitoring and enforcement against individuals, businesses, religious organisations and corporate bodies whose activities pose risks to the environment and public health.

Ajayi urged business owners, facility operators, religious institutions, scrap dealers and residents to obtain the necessary permits, comply with environmental regulations and adopt responsible practices.
