Afrobeats superstar Davido is set to bring his 15-year musical journey to Lagos in grand style with a three-night concert residency at the remodelled National Theatre.
The Grammy-nominated singer announced on Friday that he will headline “Oriadé: The Residency” on December 17, 18 and 19, 2026, promising three nights of music at one of Nigeria’s most iconic cultural landmarks.
Davido made the announcement in a post on X, declaring that he was taking the celebration “home” to Lagos.
“LAGOS!!! 🇳🇬 We bringing it HOME! 15 years of madness and there’s nowhere I’d rather be,” he wrote.
“ORIADÉ: The Residency comes to the National Theatre for 3 nights this December.”
The concert is being billed as a landmark moment for Afrobeats, with Davido becoming the first Afrobeats artiste to stage a residency at the National Theatre.
The three-night showcase is expected to feature performances from Oriadé, Davido’s 13-track album released in July, alongside songs drawn from his extensive catalogue.
The album features collaborations with Black Sherif, Mayorkun, FOLA, Leon Thomas, Aya Nakamura, Llona, NO11, JAZZWRLD and GL_Ceejay.
15 Years Of Davido
The residency comes as the singer marks 15 years since his emergence as one of the defining forces in Nigeria’s modern Afrobeats movement.
Davido broke into the mainstream with “Dami Duro,” the second single from his debut album, Omo Baba Olowo, in 2012.
He has since released four other studio albums, including A Good Time (2019), A Better Time (2020), Timeless (2023) and 5ive (2025).
Beyond his music releases, Davido has also played a major role in nurturing emerging talents through his record label, Davido Music Worldwide (DMW), which he founded in 2016.
‘Oriadé’ Takes Centre Stage
The December residency is expected to place Oriadé at the heart of the celebrations, giving fans the opportunity to experience the album live in an extended concert format.
Davido had previously disclosed that he recorded much of the album at home with his wife and children, describing the process as a quieter and more intimate creative experience.
The National Theatre concerts will now provide a much larger stage for the project as Davido combines material from his latest album with hits spanning his career.
With three consecutive nights scheduled for December 17, 18 and 19, the ‘Oriadé: The Residency’ is positioned as both a celebration of Davido’s 15-year career and a major homecoming for one of Africa’s biggest music stars.
