NAFDAC Shuts Lagos Trade Fair Shops Over Suspected Unregistered Cosmetics

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has shut several shops and business premises at the Trade Fair Complex in Lagos over suspected distribution of unregistered cosmetic products.

The enforcement action was carried out by NAFDAC’s Investigation and Enforcement Directorate, Cosmetics Division, during a two-day operation conducted on August 26 and 27, 2026.

The agency said the operation was aimed at removing specified suspected unregistered cosmetic products from circulation and protecting consumers from potentially unsafe products.

Among the premises affected were Vincentmo World, opposite Bmeck Plaza, Private Plaza; Amazon City of Fragrance, Shops 37 and 38, Beauty Promise Land Plaza; and Aza-King Store Perfumes, opposite Fidelity Bank, all within the Trade Fair Complex.

Others included PP2 & Fragrance International Ltd. – Design Perfumes & Cosmetics; No. D12 Fragrance Doctor Shop at Abia Plaza; and God & Obaino Fragrance Store, opposite Wave Plaza.

NAFDAC said other unidentified shops and business premises within the complex were also affected by the enforcement operation.

The affected premises were locked and placed under NAFDAC HOLD labels pending further regulatory action.

The agency also disclosed that samples of the suspected unregistered cosmetic products were taken for further investigation and laboratory assessment.

According to NAFDAC, invitation letters were issued to the owners and operators of the affected businesses to appear for interrogation and further regulatory proceedings.

The latest enforcement operation underscores NAFDAC’s intensified efforts to rid the Nigerian market of unregistered and potentially unsafe cosmetics and other regulated products.
