Ronaldinho Makes Shock Comeback, Set To Feature For Ravenna

Brazilian football icon Ronaldinho is set to make a surprise return to competitive football after agreeing to join Italian Serie C side Ravenna FC at the age of 46.

The former Barcelona and AC Milan star has not played professional football since 2015, when he featured for Brazilian club Fluminense.

His comeback will mark a return to Italian football, where he previously spent three seasons with AC Milan between 2008 and 2011.

Ronaldinho, a 2002 World Cup winner, has also joined Ravenna’s ownership group as part of the club’s plans to rebuild and attract greater investment and international attention.

Ravenna owner Ignazio Cipriani confirmed that Ronaldinho will play in at least one Serie C fixture, insisting the move is not merely a promotional arrangement.

Although the date of his competitive return has yet to be announced, Ronaldinho is not expected to feature in Ravenna’s opening league match against Reggiana.

The Brazilian is also expected to play a major role in promoting the club and its long-term project.

Expressing his excitement over the comeback, Ronaldinho said: “I cannot wait to dance with the ball.”

His arrival has generated excitement among Ravenna supporters, with the club hoping his global profile will boost its fan base, attract investors and increase international attention.

At 46, Ronaldinho is now preparing to make a competitive football appearance more than a decade after his last professional match.
