The Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), Prof. Segun Aina, has declared war on poor customer service, urging staff to embrace professionalism, teamwork and innovation to deliver a smoother experience for millions of candidates.

Aina made the declaration on Friday, August 14, 2026, during his maiden official visit to some of the Board’s outstation offices, where he engaged staff, inspected their operations and listened to challenges confronting them.

The JAMB boss said customer-oriented service delivery would remain a major pillar of his administration, stressing that every interaction between the Board and its candidates represents an opportunity to build public confidence in JAMB’s processes.

Aina commended staff for their warm reception and challenged them to develop the resilience and adaptability required to cope with the rapidly changing service environment.

The Registrar also promised to provide staff with the necessary tools, training and institutional support to enable them perform their duties efficiently and effectively.

He particularly urged staff to understand the expectations of Generation Z candidates, who make up a significant portion of JAMB’s clientele, insisting that the Board must continually evolve to meet their changing needs.

The Registrar’s visit also provided an avenue for staff to raise operational concerns and exchange ideas on ways of improving the Board’s services across its various locations.

Staff members at the stations visited congratulated Aina on his appointment and expressed optimism that his engagement with frontline personnel would strengthen the relationship between management and the workforce.

They pledged their support for his vision, promising to uphold professionalism, teamwork and dedication in advancing JAMB’s mandate.
