Prepare To Sign Your Uncle As Dancer, Uzodimma Tells Davido

Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma has hit back at Afrobeats star Davido over his comments on the August 15 Osun governorship election, telling the singer to prepare to sign his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, as a dancer after the poll.

Davido had urged an unnamed Imo politician to allow a free and fair election in Osun, alleging plans to interfere in the exercise. Though he did not mention Uzodimma by name, he appealed for peace and for voters to choose their preferred candidate.

Responding through his Senior Special Assistant on Electronic and Creative Media, Ambrose Nwaogwugwu, Uzodimma said Davido should direct his appeal to Osun voters instead of him.

The governor claimed Adeleke had lost public confidence and predicted that Osun voters would elect the APC candidate on August 15.

He further advised the singer to help his uncle prepare for life after office rather than make what he described as emotional appeals, adding that Davido should get ready to sign Adeleke as a dancer in his music band if he loses the election.
