The Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has officially concluded the 2024/2025 recruitment exercise for the rank of Assistant Inspector of Customs (AIC) with the release of the final list of successful candidates drawn from across the 36 states of the federation and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The announcement marks a major milestone in the Service’s recruitment programme aimed at strengthening its workforce with qualified personnel to support its expanding responsibilities in border security, trade facilitation, anti-smuggling operations and revenue generation.
According to the notice published by the Service, successful candidates are expected to verify their status by visiting the official Nigeria Customs Service website or consulting selected national newspapers where the comprehensive state-by-state list has been published.
The NCS further advised candidates whose names appear on the final list to await additional instructions, which will be communicated through their registered email addresses and SMS notifications.
The Service stressed that all successful applicants must complete the required documentation and other recruitment procedures within the timelines that will be communicated to them, warning that failure to comply with the stipulated requirements could affect their processing.
The published list covers successful candidates from every state of the federation, beginning with Abia, Adamawa, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, Bauchi, Bayelsa, Benue, Borno and Cross River, and extending through Ebonyi, Edo, Ekiti, Enugu, the Federal Capital Territory, Gombe, Imo, Jigawa, Kaduna, Kano, Katsina, Kebbi, Kogi, Kwara, Lagos, Nasarawa, Niger, Ogun, Ondo, Osun, Oyo, Plateau, Rivers, Sokoto, Taraba, Yobe and Zamfara.
The release of the final list effectively brings to a close months of screening and evaluation conducted by the Service as part of its nationwide recruitment exercise.
Industry observers note that the recruitment comes at a period when the Nigeria Customs Service continues to play an increasingly strategic role in Nigeria’s economic management through improved revenue collection, border management, suppression of smuggling, implementation of trade policies and facilitation of legitimate international commerce.
By expanding its workforce, the Service is expected to further strengthen operational efficiency across commands nationwide while enhancing its capacity to respond to emerging security and trade challenges.
Candidates whose names appear on the final list have therefore been urged to monitor only official communication channels of the Nigeria Customs Service and promptly comply with all subsequent directives issued by the management to ensure a seamless transition into the next stage of the recruitment process.
