Burna Boy Cut Me Off Over False Affair Rumours — Shatta Wale

Ghanaian dancehall star Shatta Wale has claimed that his friendship with Nigerian Afrobeats singer Burna Boy ended after false rumours alleged that he had an affair with the latter’s girlfriend during a visit to Ghana.

Speaking on *The Honest Bunch Podcast*, Shatta Wale said he hosted Burna Boy during the trip, providing accommodation and vehicles to ensure he had a comfortable stay.

According to him, the relationship deteriorated after some former members of his team allegedly told Burna Boy that he was involved with the singer’s girlfriend, an allegation he described as false.

“They told Burna Boy that I was sleeping with the girl he brought to Ghana, and he believed them,” Shatta Wale claimed.

The singer said his repeated efforts to explain the situation were unsuccessful, alleging that Burna Boy ignored his calls and messages. He added that he also reached out to Burna Boy’s mother and manager, Bose Ogulu, but was unable to resolve the misunderstanding.

Despite the fallout, Shatta Wale said he remains happy for Burna Boy’s global success, while expressing disappointment that he was never given the opportunity to clear his name.
