Two Million Farmers to Access Support Under FG’s Renewed Hope Initiative

The Federal Government has flagged off the Renewed Hope Smallholder Support and Value Chain Programme, a landmark initiative aimed at boosting agricultural productivity, improving farmers’ incomes, and strengthening food security across Nigeria.

Speaking at the launch in Zaria, Kaduna State, the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Food Security, Senator Abubakar Kyari, CON, said the programme will support up to two million smallholder farmers with timely access to agricultural inputs, extension services, and guaranteed market opportunities through the Bank of Agriculture and Arzikin Noma.

The Minister explained that the intervention will deploy over 10 million bags of fertiliser, with one-third of beneficiaries being women, while ensuring farmers receive inputs during the planting season and are protected by a Guaranteed Minimum Price at harvest. He noted that the initiative aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, by reducing farmers’ risks and enhancing value chain development.

Senator Kyari commended the Bank of Agriculture and Arzikin Noma for driving the initiative, describing their partnership as a practical model for delivering sustainable support to farmers and accelerating Nigeria’s journey towards food security and agricultural prosperity.
