Lagos PDP Denies Endorsing Tinubu Ahead Of 2027 Polls

The Lagos State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has dismissed claims that it endorsed President Bola Tinubu for the 2027 general elections, describing a viral statement to that effect as fake.

In a statement issued on Tuesday by its Publicity Secretary, Christopher Odianarewo, the party described the purported endorsement as false, stressing that Tinubu is not a PDP member and has never received the party’s backing.

The chapter also questioned the authenticity of the document, noting that it lacked an identifiable author, official party insignia, signature and approval from any recognised organ of the party.

According to the PDP, the statement was designed to mislead the public and create confusion within its ranks.

The party reaffirmed its recognition of the Interim National Working Committee led by Dr Tanimu Turaki (SAN) and the Board of Trustees chaired by Senator Adolphus Wabara as its legitimate national leadership.

It urged party members, stakeholders, the media and the public to disregard the alleged endorsement and remain vigilant against misinformation, reiterating its commitment to providing a credible alternative for Nigerians ahead of the 2027 elections.
