APGA Rules Out Presidential Candidate, Declares Support For Tinubu

The All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) has endorsed President Bola Tinubu as its preferred presidential candidate for the 2027 election, confirming it will not field its own candidate.

APGA National Publicity Secretary, Mazi Ejimofor Opara, said the party’s decision explains why no presidential candidate was uploaded to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) nomination portal.

According to Opara, the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) resolved after consultations to support Tinubu’s re-election bid, describing the move as being in the country’s best interest.

He stressed that APGA remains fully involved in the electoral process, noting that it has already submitted the names of its candidates for the National Assembly and State Houses of Assembly elections.

“We have not uploaded a presidential candidate because the National Executive Committee of the party has already taken a decision to support President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027,” Opara said.
