Tributes Flow As Nollywood Stars Honor Alexx Ekubo At Emotional Service Of Songs

Nollywood Stars gathered on Wednesday at The Monarch Event Center in Lekki for the Service of Songs for Alexx Ekubo, who passed on May 11, 2026, after a private battle with advanced metastatic kidney cancer.

Stars like IK Ogbonna, Kate Henshaw, Funke Akindele, and Nancy Isime filled the room with heartfelt stories of his charm, kindness, and once-in-a-lifetime friendships, while his widow Anwuli received special prayers.

Tributes flowed from guests who highlighted his roles in hits like The Bling Lagosians and Omo Ghetto: The Saga, with his burial planned for June 18 in Abia.
