Trump Blames Iran For Helicopter Attack, Warns Of Retaliation

President Donald Trump on Tuesday accused Iran of downing a US Apache helicopter over the Strait of Hormuz and vowed to retaliate, saying a response was necessary.

According to the Pentagon, the helicopter crashed after the alleged attack, but both crew members were rescued unharmed by an unmanned US sea drone during a coordinated military operation.

While Trump blamed Tehran for the incident, Iranian authorities have not formally accepted responsibility. Iranian media reported that the country had not claimed involvement.

The development comes amid fragile efforts to preserve a ceasefire between Iran and Israel following renewed exchanges of fire over the weekend.

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned that foreign military forces operating near Iran remained at risk and suggested they leave the region to avoid further incidents.

The incident has intensified pressure on Washington to respond, potentially complicating ongoing negotiations aimed at easing tensions and securing a broader regional agreement.
