Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu on Monday reaffirmed Lagos State’s position as Africa’s leading destination for investment, innovation and enterprise, declaring that his administration is working daily to create an environment where businesses can thrive.
The governor made the remarks while welcoming investors, industry leaders and innovators to the third edition of the Invest Lagos Summit, tagged Invest Lagos 3.0.
According to Sanwo-Olu, the summit was designed to showcase, in practical terms, why Lagos remains the business gateway to Africa and a preferred destination for local and foreign investments.
“Through Invest Lagos 3.0, we set out to demonstrate, in practical terms, why Lagos is the business gateway to Africa. Our city remains a leading destination for investment, innovation and enterprise on the continent and we are ready for your bold ideas,” he said.
The governor stressed that the state government remains committed to removing barriers to business growth and creating conditions that enable enterprises to flourish.
“We are working every day to make it easier for businesses to grow and thrive here,” he added.
Sanwo-Olu said the summit provided a platform for frank discussions on strategies for growing businesses across Africa, describing the conversations as productive and insightful.
He expressed appreciation to Kashim Shettima for attending the event, as well as governors from different parts of the country who participated in the summit.
The Lagos governor specifically thanked Hope Uzodimma, Abdullahi Sule and Alex Otti for their presence and support.
“I especially thank His Excellency, Vice President Kashim Shettima, for gracing us with his presence. My gratitude also goes to my brother governors, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State, Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State, and Governor Alex Otti of Abia State, for their presence and support,” he said.
Sanwo-Olu noted that the enthusiasm displayed by participants reflected growing confidence in Lagos despite prevailing economic challenges.
“The energy in the room was a strong reminder that, despite the challenges we face, the momentum of Lagos remains strong,” he stated.
The governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to fostering an enabling business environment and building an economy that delivers prosperity for residents and investors alike.
“As we continue to create an enabling environment for businesses to grow, we remain committed to building an economy that creates opportunities and delivers prosperity for all,” he said.
