The Commission Chief Executive of the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, has underscored the importance of regulatory certainty in attracting investment and strengthening resilience across Nigeria’s economy amid growing global uncertainties.

Eyesan made the remarks on Friday while participating in an exclusive gathering of 100 distinguished leaders held to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Lagos office of the Boston Consulting Group (BCG).

The high-level event brought together leading figures from various sectors of the economy to discuss strategies for unlocking growth and building resilience in an increasingly complex and fragmented global environment.

During a panel session themed, “Growing Nigeria in a Fracturing World,” the NUPRC chief highlighted the critical role of effective regulation in reducing investment risks and fostering sustainable economic development.

According to her, regulatory certainty remains a key factor in encouraging investors to commit long-term capital, particularly at a time when global economic conditions are becoming more challenging.

Eyesan noted that as capital becomes more expensive and investors subject markets to greater scrutiny, Nigeria must focus on creating an enabling environment that supports investment, efficient project execution, and long-term resilience.

She stressed that building the right regulatory framework would not only enhance investor confidence but also strengthen the capacity of industries to withstand economic shocks and adapt to changing global realities.

The NUPRC boss further emphasized that creating the right conditions for investment and execution will be critical to achieving Nigeria’s growth ambitions and maintaining competitiveness in an increasingly uncertain world.

The event formed part of activities marking BCG Lagos Office’s decade-long presence in Nigeria and served as a platform for discussions on the future of business, policy, and economic growth in the country.
