Adelabu’s Sister, Twin Sons Freed Days After Ibadan Kidnap

A wave of relief swept through Ibadan on Saturday night as the sister of former Minister of Power, Adebayo Adelabu, and her two children regained their freedom days after they were abducted.

Mrs Busayo Adegoke John-Paul and her 12-year-old twin sons were kidnapped on Tuesday at Elewura-Challenge in Ibadan South-West Local Government Area of Oyo State.

A senior police source confirmed their release to PUNCH Online on Saturday night, saying the victims had been rescued.

The gunmen reportedly trailed the family from their residence before intercepting their vehicle and abducting them around 7:30 a.m.

The incident had heightened concerns over insecurity in Ibadan, coming months after the abduction of APC chieftain Wale Oriade in the state capital.

Details of the rescue operation were still sketchy as of press time.
