National Prayer Initiative Was Ours, Not Adeboye’s — PFN

The Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN) says its recent nationwide prayer programme was conceived and executed entirely by the fellowship, not by Pastor Enoch Adeboye or the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG).

In a statement, PFN National Secretary, Bishop David Bakare, described reports linking the programme to Adeboye and RCCG as “false, misleading, and entirely baseless.”

“It is deeply unfortunate for anyone to attempt to attribute the programme to Pastor E.A. Adeboye or the Redeemed Christian Church of God. The RCCG never called for any protest. The programme was entirely a PFN initiative,” Bakare said.

He added that all participating churches, including RCCG, merely complied with PFN directives as members of the fellowship.

Bakare also noted that the programme ended on Pentecost Sunday, a global Christian observance, and said an earlier plan for public processions was suspended due to security concerns.

The PFN expressed satisfaction with the exercise, saying it successfully mobilised prayers for Nigeria amid growing concerns over insecurity, economic hardship and the country’s future.
