Former Deputy Senate President Ovie Omo-Agege has endorsed Peter Obi for the 2027 presidential election while maintaining his support for key economic reforms introduced by President Bola Tinubu.
Speaking on ARISE TV on Wednesday, Omo-Agege said he still believes the removal of fuel subsidy and the floating of the naira were necessary policies and has not changed his position on them.
The former APC chieftain, who recently left the party, argued that Obi also supports similar economic measures and would enjoy greater public trust in implementing them.
“I have not changed my opinion about these policies,” he said, adding that the reforms themselves are not the problem.
Omo-Agege maintained that his endorsement of Obi is based on confidence in his ability to drive the policies effectively, rather than opposition to Tinubu’s economic agenda.
