Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu, has declared that the country will not be intimidated by insurgents, expressing confidence that ongoing security challenges will soon be overcome.
Speaking in Ado-Ekiti during a meeting with the Ekiti State Traditional Rulers’ Council, the First Lady said Nigeria remains strong despite insecurity challenges, adding that the federal government is intensifying efforts to restore peace.
She praised President Bola Tinubu’s commitment to tackling insecurity and acknowledged international support being received in addressing the issue.
Oluremi Tinubu also urged Nigerians to remain prayerful and optimistic, expressing confidence that the security situation would improve in due course.
Accompanied by the wife of the Vice President, Nana Shettima, she also appealed for support for Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, encouraging his re-election bid.
During the visit, she announced a ₦100 million empowerment grant for 2,000 women petty traders in Ekiti, with each beneficiary receiving ₦50,000 to support small businesses and household needs.
Traditional rulers commended the federal government’s leadership and urged continued efforts to address insecurity across the country.
The event was attended by senior government officials, including the Minister of Women Affairs Imaan Sulaiman-Ibrahim and APC women leaders, alongside other dignitaries.
