“We Need To Speak Up” – Davido Calls Out Entertainers Over National Silence

Afrobeats star Davido has criticised the silence of Nigerian entertainers on rising insecurity and injustice in the country, urging public figures to speak up on national issues.

Davido, in posts shared on X on Saturday, said many entertainers, including himself, have not done enough to address the country’s worsening insecurity and social injustice.

He admitted that celebrities often face backlash whether they speak out or remain silent, but insisted that they should still express their views when they feel compelled.

According to him, “We need to speak up. It’s too much injustice going on,” adding that Nigerians should continue to pray for the country despite its challenges.

He also expressed emotional concern over recent incidents of violence, including the abduction of schoolchildren in Oyo State, describing the situation as distressing.

The singer’s comments come amid public outrage over insecurity in parts of the country, with other entertainers like Folarin Falana also calling for stronger civic action and protests in response to the attacks.
