Liverpool Sack Arne Slot, Line Up Iraola As Successor

Liverpool have reportedly parted ways with manager Arne Slot within days of the end of the Premier League season, giving the Dutch manager his abrupt end at Anfield.

The move comes after a down campaign as the Reds failed to retain the league title and came fifth out of the six teams to finish the season with a disappointing finish to third tier football.

The Liverpool stalwart, who was named in the squad for next season, was taken off the books on Saturday after the club made contact with the transfer market’s Fabrizio Romano, who announced the split on Saturday.

Former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola has been the obvious preferred choice to head up the Merseyside outfit, says Romano.

It marks the start of another era of Liverpool’s major rebuild as club officials work on a fast track to get their team ahead for next season.

The club has always had a high bar to clear when it comes to expectations at Anfield and its move is a testament to its desire to return to the top of English and European football after a season which did not meet the high standards of supporters and management.
