Gbajabiamila Hails Lagos APC Primary As Peaceful, Transparent

Femi Gbajabiamila has praised the conduct of the All Progressives Congress House of Assembly primary election in Lagos State, describing the exercise in Surulere Constituency I as peaceful, free and orderly.

Speaking to journalists after voting at Ward G2 in Surulere on Wednesday, Gbajabiamila said he was impressed by the atmosphere and turnout during the exercise.

“When I see peaceful, fair, credible, orderly elections, I am always very happy. And that is exactly what I have seen today,” he said.

The former Speaker of the House of Representatives added that the turnout was commendable despite the fact that it was a party primary.

“The turnout, considering that we are talking about primaries here, has been very impressive. People have been peaceful and orderly. The election has been free and transparent, and I am happy to see that,” he added.

Gbajabiamila also said reports from other wards suggested the primary was peaceful across the constituency, describing the exercise as a positive reflection of internal democracy within the party.
