Makinde Set To Launch 2027 Presidential Bid In Ibadan

Seyi Makinde is expected to formally declare his 2027 presidential ambition on May 14 during a major political rally at Mapo Hall.

The event, tagged Unity Mega Rally Ibadan 2026, is also expected to unveil a political alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied Peoples’ Movement, alongside other coalition partners aligned with the Oyo governor.

Sources said preparations for the rally have intensified amid growing political realignments in Oyo State and the wider South-West, with grassroots mobilisers and Makinde loyalists ramping up consultations.

Although Makinde has yet to officially confirm his presidential bid, support groups and political associates have continued to mount pressure on him to join the 2027 race.
